Welcome to Gauntlet Fitness

Train Here. Confident Everywhere.

The Gauntlet Fitness Gym is like nothing Birmingham has ever seen before. From floor to ceiling, the gym was custom designed and built by the Gauntlet team to meet the specific needs of our members.

The Gauntlet itself was custom built to provide ultimate variety by utilizing various stations that keep every workout fresh and your body guessing what comes next. There is no chance for your body to adapt to the Gauntlet because each station is different and the workout changes every day. You never do the same workout twice.

Our strike pads are custom designed to safely absorb impact. You will feel empowered and confident as you strike your way into new fitness levels and abilities you never thought you could do.

Get Fit. Not Hit.

The Gauntlet program is designed for any fitness level or background. Our motto is we hit pads, not people. What better than being able to punch something and relieve all of that stress, while getting stronger, faster, and more fit.

What People Are Saying

So here's the difference . . . Last year to this year, but really lost all the weight since 1st of June. With nearly 50 lbs gone, I'm eager to lost the next 50! The Gauntlet has given me a place to pursue my goals in an environment where the challenge and the motivation all come from people who truly want you to succeed and cheer every step you take. I love going there and feel like my day isn't complete when I don't make it. You will not find a better, harder and more comprehensive workout - and at the end of the days, it's your workout so you get as much out as you put in.

It took me a year of saying that I am going to get in the gym and I thank John Stalcup for countless hours of encouraging me to do it. Like the trainers at the Gauntlet, John is always pushing me to go just a little bit harder by throwing down a gauntlet challenge. This is the new and improved Kim.. I am healthy, happy and fit. Thank you Gauntlet fitness for pushing me when I couldn't do it myself and training me to never give up! Gauntlet Fitness gives you results if you put in the work. My Gauntlet family, there is only one question... Are you ready to run the Gauntlet?

There's a lot of fitness centers in the city but there's not any l enjoy more than Gauntlet Fitness! The Gauntlet is very unique and sets itself apart from the usual workout of lifting weights and running on a treadmill! That's very boring! I've been very pleased with the amount of cardio fitness achieved without having to actually run. I'm not one who enjoys running, but will do occasional 5k. I'm much stronger, physically and mentally. I've learned a lot about self defense while improving my overall fitness, all while having fun! The Gauntlet trainer's have experience and integrity that go a long way for a great workout ! Can't say enough about this place.

I am enjoying the pleasure of experiencing this facility first hand. The Gauntlet team should be very proud of what they have built and overall concept surrounding Gauntlet Kickboxing. As an engineer, the first mental thought and word that came to my mind when I first walked through the doors for the first time was…Primal! Raw steel carefully laid out to facilitate circuit type fitness and total body workout … aka … The Gauntlet! After every workout, physically drained, mentally recharged, tongue hanging out, out of breath, and sweating… I get a great workout that compares to nothing. Well done Gauntlet Fitness… you are on your way!

As a high school track and cross country athlete, I won six state championships. I attended Troy University on a Track and Cross Country Scholarship. During my time at Troy, I was running an average of 80 miles a week and weight training with a strength and conditioning coach 3 days a week. Needless to say, I was in great shape. So, hear me when I say this… because of Gauntlet Fitness Kickboxing… I am in better shape now than in college! I’m not telling you this to brag - I’m telling you this so you can get in on the goodness, should you choose.

I want to share my experience so far at Gauntlet Fitness which is now open for business in Homewood. I recently joined, and I’ve grown to love everything about it: the concept, the guys behind it, and (surprise) the actual work-outs! I am so impressed by this group of guys: their skill levels, teaching ability, equipment, their patience, and their care to prevent injury. They each have interesting and successful backgrounds which coalesce perfectly for this fitness concept. I also admire these guys as businessmen, and I’m a fan of their vision for Gauntlet.

Just can’t thank you enough for starting Gauntlet Fitness! I’m in the best shape of my life and continue to transform my body with each workout. The mental health benefits are invaluable too. It’s the best therapy I’ve found! I’ve tried everything from aerobics to zumba to turbo kick and I’ve never gotten the results or satisfaction from a workout like I do from this program. The Gauntlet is not only a great workout but also a fantastic stress reliever after a long day at work. I’m getting the best workout ever and at the same time, I’m learning self defense moves that make me feel safer and more confident about shopping or traveling alone. So addictive and LOVE IT!!!
